Mediation

Four flowering branches in sequence: Cognitive, Metacognitive, Motivational and Behavioural CQ, above a branch labelled Dialogue as Strategy
The four dimensions of Cultural Intelligence as a mediation roadmap (based on Ang and Van Dyne, 2008)

Cognitive CQ

Culture is dynamic. Understanding communication styles, norms and values reduces friction before it starts — learning about the other before the encounter begins.

Metacognitive CQ

Knowledge becomes active in the moment — flexible, adaptive and reflective — replacing friction with cooperation.

Motivational CQ

The source of energy and effectiveness. The deeper the interest — deeper the engagement.

Behavioural CQ

The internal process becoming visible through action. A moment where trust is built or lost.
